About ADINOX S70 MS Polymer Sealant
ADINOX® S70 is a high-performance instant-tack adhesive sealant. Free of isocyanates, solvents and silicone, it is non-corrosive to metals and cures with ambient moisture into a highly flexible elastomer resistant to UV, ozone and weathering. As an MS polymer sealant, it is odorless, bubble-free and shrink-free, and can even be applied on damp surfaces and underwater.
Its defining feature is an extremely high initial adhesion (tack) of ≥0.57 PSI, allowing instant fixation without mounting tapes or temporary supports — the instant bonding sealant for vertical panels, profiles and facade elements. With zero VOC content it also qualifies as a low VOC sealant for LEED-oriented projects.

How to Use ADINOX S70?
Surface Preparation
- Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, grease and contaminants
- Degrease thoroughly with acetone or isopropyl alcohol; brush off loose particles
- Apply between +41°F and +104°F - suitable on damp surfaces, even underwater
- For PC and PMMA (and highly porous/non-porous surfaces) pre-treat with ADINOX +217 primer
Adhesive Application
- Apply continuous vertical beads, 4 to 8 in apart - do not apply in dabs or dots
- Bead thickness 1/16 - 1/8 in - press firmly for uniform contact
- Instant fixation: no mounting tapes or additional supports required
- Sealing joints: width 1/4 - 1 in, depth 1/4 - 9/16 in
Cure and Clean
- Skin forms in 10 - 15 min; handling after 2 - 4 hours minimum
- Cure depth 1/16 - 1/8 in per 24 h - full cure in 48 - 72 hours
- Clean uncured adhesive from surfaces and tools with acetone or isopropyl alcohol
- Cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically (cutting, sanding)

Frequently Asked Questions
What is MS polymer and how is it different from silicone?
S70 is an MS polymer sealant: unlike silicone it is paintable, non-corrosive, odorless and free of isocyanates and solvents, while offering high initial tack for instant fixation.
Can ADINOX S70 be applied on wet surfaces?
Yes. S70 cures by ambient moisture and can be applied on damp surfaces and even underwater. It is not suitable for permanent immersion under continuous hydrostatic load.
Is ADINOX S70 paintable?
Yes. Emulsion paints show optimal compatibility after skin formation. Synthetic paints may dry slowly — lightly sand, degrease with IPA and paint immediately, verifying adhesion beforehand.
What is the initial tack strength of S70?
S70 offers an exceptional initial tack of ≥0.57 PSI, allowing instant fixation of vertical panels and profiles without mounting tapes or supports.
What temperature range can S70 withstand?
Once cured, ADINOX S70 withstands continuous service temperatures from -40 to +194°F (-40 to +90°C).
Does S70 require a primer for all surfaces?
No. S70 bonds most metals, glass, concrete and stone directly. Use ADINOX +217 primer for polycarbonate (PC), acrylic (PMMA) and highly porous or non-porous surfaces with minimal adhesion.
Is ADINOX S70 suitable for expansion and movement joints on facades?
S70 is well suited as a facade and movement joint sealant for non-structural joints, absorbing 20-25% deformation. It is not suitable for structural expansion joints — for high-movement joints consider the more flexible ADINOX MS40.
Why choose a silicone-free sealant for metal?
As a silicone-free, non-corrosive high-tack sealant, S70 will not corrode metals or contaminate surfaces for later painting, unlike silicone. It bonds aluminum, stainless, carbon and galvanized steel, and brass directly.
Is ADINOX S70 safe for indoor use?
Yes. S70 is odorless, solvent-free and zero VOC, making it a LEED compliant sealant well suited for enclosed and occupied spaces. It is for industrial use — always refer to the SDS.
