How to Use ADINOX C301?
Surface Preparation
- Surfaces must be clean and free of grease, oil, and contaminants
- Degrease with ADINOX® DS 400 degreaser (or acetone)
- For inactive surfaces, use ADINOX® 770 surface activator to accelerate cure
Apply Adhesive
- Apply a thin layer to one of the surfaces to be bonded
- Do not use tools to spread the adhesive - capillary action distributes it
- One drop per square inch is typically sufficient
Assemble Parts
- Assemble parts immediately - position with precision (brief adjustment time)
- Hold firmly until the adhesive has set
- For large gaps or slow-curing surfaces, use ADINOX® 712 activator
Curing
- Moisture on the substrate surface initiates the cure
- Allow 24 hours for full strength development before operational loads
- Gaps slow down curing - activators can improve cure speed
Cleaning & Removal
Uncured (immediate) | ADINOX® DS 400 degreaser, acetone, or cyanoacrylate remover |
Cured | Cyanoacrylate remover or mechanical removal |
Skin contact | Soak in warm soapy water. Do NOT force apart. |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ADINOX C301 industrial instant adhesive used for?
ADINOX C301 is a surface insensitive industrial instant adhesive designed for bonding metals, plastics, elastomers, and porous materials such as wood and leather. As a proven cyanoacrylate for manufacturing and assembly line operations, this industrial instant adhesive is ideal for production lines, maintenance, and repair requiring fast fixture times and high bond strength.
How fast does ADINOX C301 set?
Fixture times range from 2 seconds on porous materials like pine to 25 seconds on polycarbonate. On carbon steel, C301 achieves handling strength in 8 to 12 seconds. Full cure develops in 24 hours.
What is MIL-PRF-46050 compliance?
MIL-PRF-46050 is a U.S. military performance specification for cyanoacrylate adhesives. ADINOX C301 complies with Type II (medium viscosity) Class 2 (low blooming), ensuring consistent quality for critical bonding applications in defense, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing.
What temperature range can C301 withstand?
ADINOX C301 operates from -65°F to 199°F. It retains 100% strength between -13°F and 122°F, with 88% retention at -58°F and 90% retention at 212°F. The softening point is 329°F.
Does C301 work on wood and leather?
Yes. ADINOX C301 is specifically formulated as a surface insensitive cyanoacrylate, providing excellent adhesion to low-activity surfaces including wood (pine fixtures in 2-5 seconds), leather, and fiberglass - substrates where standard cyanoacrylates often struggle.
How should I store ADINOX C301?
Store refrigerated at 36-50°F in the original sealed container, away from moisture sources. Refrigeration provides optimum stability with a 12-month shelf life. Maximum storage temperature: 77°F. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct light.
What makes C301 a reliable alternative to general-purpose ethyl cyanoacrylates on the market?
ADINOX® C301 matches the core performance profile of the most common 90-120 cP general-purpose ethyl CAs in the market: MIL-PRF-46050 Type II Class 2 compliance, 8-12 second fixture on steel, and tensile strength of 3,190 PSI. Beyond parity, C301 is a surface insensitive industrial instant adhesive specifically formulated to bond low-activity substrates - wood, leather, and fiberglass - where standard ethyl CAs struggle. It also offers excellent chemical resistance and is available in industrial quantities (1 lb bottles) with dedicated technical support.
When should I use an activator with C301?
Use ADINOX® 712 activator when bonding acidic or low-moisture surfaces, filling gaps larger than 0.008 in, or when faster fixture times are required. Apply 712 to one surface and C301 to the other before assembling. Note that activators may slightly reduce final bond strength.
Is ADINOX C301 suitable for high-speed assembly line bonding in manufacturing?
Yes. ADINOX® C301 is a purpose-built industrial instant adhesive for manufacturing and assembly line applications. Its 8-12 second fixture time on steel allows continuous throughput without clamps or jigs on small assemblies. The MIL-PRF-46050 Type II Class 2 rating guarantees consistent lot-to-lot viscosity (90-120 cP) and fixture performance - a critical requirement in automated dispensing lines. As an industrial strength cyanoacrylate for high-speed bonding of wood, leather, fiberglass, and inactive plastics, C301 provides the control and reliability that general-purpose retail super glues cannot match. Use with ADINOX® 712 Activator to reduce fixture time to under 5 seconds when cycle time is critical.
